CYT offers week-long musical theater camps during the summer months for students ages 5— Camps are designed to create a hands-on theater experience, and are focused on building performance skills, self-confidence, and teamwork.
Typical camps include team competitions, rotations through drama, dance, music, and craft workshops, a daily theme-related devotional, and an impressive concluding showcase for family and friends. Our day camps will run June 13—August 5, and feature an original and creative theme with a concluding showcase!
Our day camps run Monday-Friday from 9—3 pm. Drop off begins at am. Pick up is at pm, with the exception of Friday with its showcase performance at pm that typically ends around As with all other CYT Chicago programming currently, masks will be worn at all times. In the past, CYT Chicago has also offered exciting overnight camp opportunities, immersing themselves and shining at one of our incredible overnight camps surrounded by actors who love theater and performing as much as they do.
Due to the state and local COVID restrictions that are still in place, we do not see it feasible to safely host Overnight Camp this summer. We pray that next year will look different, and Lord willing, we will bring it back in full excellence. These counselors are high energy, experienced, and love working with kids!
